88 UN staff members killed in Gaza
The United Nations has announced that dozens of its staff members have tragically lost their lives as a result of the conflict in Gaza. They have emphasized that this represents the highest number of UN casualties recorded in a single conflict.
On Monday, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in Gaza (UNRWA) announced that in the past four weeks, 88 of its staff members in Gaza have tragically lost their lives.
According to the Associated Press, the United Nations has reported that 70% of the population in Gaza has left their homes, and there is a critical shortage of food, water, and fuel required for generators.
Simultaneously, the Palestinian Minister of Health has announced that, as of 7 October, a total of 175 healthcare workers in Gaza have tragically lost their lives. During the same period, 16 medical facilities have been forced to shut down due to Israeli attacks.
Meanwhile, King Abdullah of Jordan has revealed that his country’s air force personnel have delivered urgently needed medical supplies to a field hospital in Gaza.
While several countries are making efforts to broker a ceasefire in Gaza, the Israeli military has announced that they have successfully divided the Gaza Strip into two parts by reaching the southern shore of Gaza City.
According to Reuters, Israeli forces have completely encircled the largest city in the Palestinian territories and have sealed off all access points.
Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, wrote on his Twitter page that Hamas has made a mistake and will be removed.
