A GARDEN lover has come up with an ingenious way of protecting her plants this winter.
It won’t stretch the household budget either because this hack was super cheap.
She used a cheap insulation tube[/caption]You could buy them for $9 from Amazon or you could head to another store.
Dollar Tree had something similar but this was only $1.25.
The novel idea came from Roxanne (@roxanne_n_the_puzzycatz).
She has found a way of keeping precious plants warm and cozy this winter.
Use her clever tip and these green-leafed friends should come through the cold months intact.
“Winterizing plants,” she began her post.
The secret of her tip was rubber tubes ordinarily used to insulate pipes.
These were available from Amazon for $9.
There was an alternative however, and even cheaper.
“A pool noodle will also work,” she said.
They were available from Dollar Tree for just $1.25.
She carefully wrapped the pipe around her plants, carefully snipping whenever she got to a limb to ensure it fit in a snug-like fashion.
When the wrapping was completed, she added additional soil to cover the roots.
But she had another tip to keep to give those plants extra protection this winter.
“You can also insulate pot with bubble wrap or news paper and trash bag.”
Once this job was done she had one final instruction: “Place pots in garage or covered area to avoid snow and ice.”
