The Met Office has warned Brits to pack a brolly with them this week with a washout expected as the UK will be hit with the tail of Storm Ciarán.
Forecasters have said there will be unsettled showers later this week, and it comes as a major incident was declared in Surrey after thousands of people were left without water.
The water outage was due to Storm Ciarán wrecking a treatment works that serves the area.
Storm Debi – the fourth named storm of the year- is also expected to roll in and bring further disruption later this week.
Today forecasters said early fog in northern areas will clear to leave a day of sunshine and showers.
The showers are expected to be heaviest and most widespread in the west with the chance of some thunder.
More showers are expected in northern and western areas of the country overnight.
Tuesday is expected to bring more of the same with scattered sunshine and showers.
Winds are also expected to pick up.
On Wednesday the weather will deteriorate further with a band of wet and windy weather sweeping eastwards across almost all of the country.
Heavy blustery showers are expected to continue on Thursday with the worst of the showers starting to ease by Friday.
The UK has been hit by three named storms already this year.
They caused widespread travel disruption and flooding across many parts of the UK.
Storm Ciarán was the most recent and caused flood damage to parts of England.
Storm Debi could hit later this week with the Met Office issuing weather warnings.
