.....and I don't like it.
I hope I'm wrong but I see "win one for the "ol alma mater" gone.
There's the NIL which is taking amateurs to professionalism.
Winning for my school or winning for me.....which is it?
Players want to be where the most $$$$ is.
That's going to be at a Power 5 school that puts 100,000 butts in
the stadium on any fall Saturday afternoon.
The travel portal will be a little less aggravating once the free Covid Season transpires.....but freshman and sophomores will still be looking hard to see
where the NIL $$$$ are, sit our a year, and hope to cash in their Junior and Senior seasons.
To top it off, IMHO, the Power Five will take their ball, develop their own
64 (?) team D-1 basketball March Madness, and the Daytons of the world
can fight for the crumbs.
Just my thoughts. Hope I'm wrong.
PS...While there is the talk of Chapel Blue Arena flooring, I suggest
Blackburn Court be placed ON THE PLAYING FLOOR where it can be seen by
ALL in Arena and ALL on TV. Now only half of the 13,000+ see it and no one sees it while watching on TV.
GO FLYERS!
