Report: 25-year-old centre-back is no longer on Tottenham’s radar
Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur will not consider activating the release clause of Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson in January.
Nelsson was mooted as a target for Spurs through the summer transfer window but the Dane ended up staying at Galatasaray.
In fact, it was reported by Turkiye Gazetesi a few days ago that Tottenham even offered Davinson Sanchez plus €2m (£1.7m) for the 25-year-old during the summer transfer window.
However, the Turkish club turned down the deal and instead signed the Colombian for €9.5m (£8.1m).
The outlet hinted that Okan Buruk’s men regret their decision not to move on Nelsson, who has fallen out of favour at RAMS Park this season.
Nelsson no longer a target for Tottenham Hotspur
Football Insider have now stated that Nelsson is not one of the players that Tottenham are looking at ahead of January.
The report explains that while the Lilywhites are expected to prioritise strengthening at centre-back in the winter, they have no interest in meeting the £26m release clause in the Galatasaray star’s contract.

There was nothing concrete to suggest that Tottenham seriously considered a move for Nelsson in the summer either. Most of the speculation seemed to come from obscure Turkish sources rather than from British outlets.
