The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Establishments and Training, Mrs. Olubusola Abidakun, has advised the staff of the ministry to brace up for work to achieve the mandate of the ministry. She made this remark during a reception organised by the workforce to formally welcome her to the ministry.
She encouraged officers to work smart and have a transformational attitude rather than a transactional attitude, stating that she could not stand Officers with a transactional attitude.
Mrs. Abidakun harped on the need to work together as a team, saying “There should be synergy and collaboration amongst the staff and everybody must do his or her best. I would not hesitate to release those who are not ready to work”.
She went down memory lane when she revealed that she started her career in the State Civil Service at the Ministry of Establishments and Training. “It is quite nostalgic for me because I started my career in this ministry and it brings fond memories of how we worked and those who inspired us then”, she said.
Whilst admonishing Officers to do their best and excel in whatever they do, the Permanent Secretary believed that ethos and ethics must be upheld at all times.
In his welcome address, the Honourable Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Mr. Afolabi Ayantayo, warmly welcomed the new Permanent Secretary and prayed for her success, stressing that he believed that the ministry would make more progress during her tenure.
He also expressed appreciation to Mr. Governor and the Head of Service for her deployment to the ministry.
