Activist Amy Kremer testified in a Colorado court Thursday that supporters believe that the 2020 presidential election was "stolen" — though she had no idea who did it.
On the second day of Donald Trump's 14th Amendment disqualification trial, the defense called Kremer, who helped plan the Jan. 6 rally that would turn into an insurrection. Voters have sued to keep Trump off the ballot based on a Civil War-era clause in the U.S. Constitution that bars insurrectionists from holding public office.
At one point, a lawyer representing the voters asked Kremer why she had called the 2020 election a "coup."

"I was talking about metaphorically, they stole an election," Kremer insisted. "So metaphorically, they were taking out the sitting president."
"Who stole the election exactly?" the attorney pressed.
"We don't know who stole the election," Kremer admitted. "I mean, it happened in a number of states, and we don't know."

"Shadowy figures?" the lawyer suggested.
"I can't speak to that," the witness replied. "We don't know."
Kremer was asked if she knew how the election was stolen.
"I mean, there were a number of things that happened with the election that were inconsistent," she opined. "Officials breaking laws. And it would be, you know, different states have different laws."

"And I'm not an expert on these state laws," she added.
