JLS star turned TV host Marvin Humes is set to join the line up on I’m A Celebrity.
Show bosses reckon his career in an X Factor boyband combined with his new life as a primetime presenter gives him a broad appeal.
Here’s what Marvin could look like on the ITV show[/caption]Marvin, 38, and wife Rochelle Humes, 34, are best known for covering on the daytime show but have also presented smash BBC gameshow The Hit List since 2019.
A jungle source said: “Marvin would be a brilliant signing.
“Not only is he known to fans of The X Factor and fans of JLS, but the audience for The Hit List and This Morning spans from kids right through older viewers.
“And with Rochelle’s backing, he’s got a ready made fan base.
“He’ll have lots of showbiz stories to tell, too, from his 15 years in the limelight.”
The source added: “The fact he’s remained a bit of a pin-up doesn’t hurt, either, and bosses hope he’ll make use of the jungle shower!”
Marvin and bandmates Aston Merrygold, Oritse Williams and JB Gill were runner-ups on Simon Cowell’s talent show in 2008.
Four years later he married Rochelle, who was in all-girl band The Saturdays.
They made their debut on This Morning in 2013.
Marvin left the gig in 2021, with stints on The Voice, Children In Need and as a Capital FM DJ in between.
The dad-of-three’s discussions over I’m A Celebrity will add to rumours that he and Rochelle will become the “new Holly and Phil”.
A source said: “ITV has sometimes used the jungle to test out talent on their audience, or boost a star’s profile ahead of future plans on the channel.
“Marvin is currently 25-1 outsider for Phil’s This Morning job but his talks for I’m A Celeb will have tongues wagging.”
Others rumoured to be heading to Ant and Dec’s Aussie camp include Frankie Dettori and Nigel Farage.
An I’m A Celebrity spokesman said at this stage all names are speculation.
The 23rd series is due to begin later this month.
