‘The only team’ – Stan Collymore makes bullish prediction about Spurs and Arsenal

Stan Collymore has confidently asserted that he has no doubts Liverpool will finish above Tottenham Hotspur this season.

Tottenham went into matchweek 9 sitting pretty at the top of the table, three points over fourth-placed Liverpool.

Ange Postecoglou’s men have a great opportunity to extend their lead at the top, with Arsenal dropping two points away to Chelsea.

The Lilywhites, meanwhile have what is, at least on paper, a relatively straight-forward game against Fulham on Monday night.

While Spurs fans will be hoping that Ange Postecoglou’s men can continue riding their current wave for momentum, it is fair to say that the majority of the fan base does not expect the club to keep pace with the likes of Man City for the whole, given that this is the Australian’s first year in charge.

Can Tottenham stay in the hunt for a full season?

Collymore believes that Liverpool, not Tottenham or Arsenal, will be City’s main challengers for the title this season.

The pundit told CaughtOffside: “For me, Liverpool will either win the league or they’ll finish second. I think they’ll finish higher than Spurs and higher than Arsenal. The only team I see doing better than them over a 38-game season is Manchester City.”
