Cesc Fabregas names three favourite Premier League teams to watch – but brutally snubs former club Chelsea
CESC FABREGAS has named his three favourite Premier League teams to watch.
However, the Spaniard snubbed former club Chelsea with his selections.
Fabregas chose treble winners Manchester City, old team Arsenal and Brighton as the teams he enjoys watching the most.
He was full of praise for the Seagulls, even comparing them to the Gunners side he played in under Arsene Wenger.
“It’s the way they understand the game,” Fabregas told The Mirror.
“They know when to slow it down, when to quicken up, when to find the right spaces. They know the right timing of when to attract players and to then accelerate.”
Fabregas believes that Brighton’s “quick, sharp football” is similar to how Arsenal played during his time in North London.
He added: “If you press them high they will get you in behind, if you press them low they’ll keep playing short and find spaces. It’s very interesting and De Zerbi is someone I’m learning so much from.”
As for his former club Arsenal, the 36-year-old explained: “Arsenal use that 3-1-3-3 formation – which is six players in front of the ball.
“It’s about the coach trusting their defenders to be quicker, faster and recover the ball. Then they can play a little bit more attacking football.

“But you could see the difference when Saliba was playing and got injured [last season]. Mikel will tell you himself that it’s not the same way they can play.”
Fabregas played under Wenger at Arsenal for seven years, winning the FA Cup before leaving for Barcelona in 2011.
He later returned to the Premier League with Chelsea and won five major trophies with the Blues, including two league titles and the Europa League.
After spells with Monaco and Como, Fabregas retired at the end of last season and is now under-19 boss at the latter.
