On several occasions this week, the 80-year-old's brain appeared to stop working as he attempted to answer a question or complete a statement. Attempting to read words, whether on a teleprompter or paper script, proved too challenging at times.

Biden will celebrate his 81st birthday in five weeks. No president in the history of the United States has ever been this old.
