The football star wore a red Celine tracksuit with iconic Air Jordan 1 "Bred" sneakers.
Travis Kelce sported a sleek luxury athleisure look before the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Denver Broncos last night. The athlete was cheered on by Taylor Swift, who watched the game with Brittany Mahomes and Dona Kelce.
In a new Instagram Reel shared by the Chiefs, the tight end can be seen arriving for the game in a vibrant red Celine tracksuit teamed with Air Jordan 1 sneakers in the iconic ‘Bred’ colorway.
The black and red color combination is famous for being banned by the NBA when Michael Jordan first wore it in 1985. Because the Air Jordan 1 didn’t incorporate any white, which was part of the Chicago Bulls’ official team colors, the basketball legend was fined $5,000 per game for wearing his Breds. Different variations of the style today can retail anywhere from $119 to over $2,000.
Kelce’s colorful look had fans flocking to the comments section to call out his resemblance to “High School Musical” main character Troy Bolton. Zac Efron’s basketball and theatre-loving character wears a similar bright red tracksuit in the 2006 film. Not only that but due to his current connection to Taylor Swift, fans were also quick to quip that the pro athlete is “in his red era,’ referencing the pop star’s 2012 album.
Kelce’s zip-up hoodie alone retails for $1,550 on mrporter.com. The full tracksuit by Celine Homme was complete with white stripes, drawstring ties and subtle logo embroidery. The 34-year-old NFL player pulled his outfit together with a crisp white, also courtesy of Celine, and oversized black shades.
Kelce’s sneaker rotation includes a wide variety of high-top and low-top in an assortment of colors, often by Air Jordan. He’s also a fan of trendy Nike Dunks, Air Maxes and classic Converse styles.
