Premier League legend Peter Crouch teases shock return to football as confused fans say ‘am I missing something?’
PETER CROUCH has teased a shock return to football with Burton Albion.
The League One club have revealed they will be making an announcement with Crouch on Monday.
The Brewers are set to welcome Cambridge to the Pirelli Stadium on Monday night.
Burton posted a snap of Crouch holding their shirt on social media, with his name and the number 15 printed on the back.
Alongside the picture, the club wrote: “A big return…”
Fans have been left shocked by the potential return of the former England striker.
Reacting to the revelation, one fan commented: “What the f*** is going on in English football?”
Another supporter asked: “What have I missed?”
A third also added: “Sorry what? Am I missing something?”
Meanwhile, one more suggested: “It’s gotta be something to do with the Bovril sleeve sponsor surely?”

Others have speculated there could be a link to Crouch’s popular podcast.
The ex-Liverpool forward has been out of the game since retiring in 2019 aged 38.
During his career, he appeared in the Premier League for seven clubs, scoring 106 goals in 467 appearances.
Crouch also scored 22 goals in 42 caps for England and represented the Three Lions at the 2006 and 2010 World Cups.
