The Lagos State Government has urged teachers in the State to hope for a better tomorrow.
The Director-General, Mr. Adekunmilola Toluwase Adio-Moses, Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC), stated this in his address to participants at the ‘Apps for Teaching and Learning 2023’ workshop.
The training programme, held at the PSSDC, Magodo, was organised by a Non-Governmental Organisation, ‘Street to School Initiative’ in collaboration with the American Centre of the United States Consulate, Lagos and the STL Limited to celebrate the 2023 World Teachers’ Day
Adio-Moses asserted that the training is very important to teachers, stressing that the acquisition of more knowledge ‘Apps’, would go a long way in ensuring that teaching in Lagos State is made easier.
Also speaking at the event, the representative of the Permanent Secretary, Teaching Service Commission, Mr. Olawale Aina encouraged the teachers to put in their best to achieve the realisation of Mr. Governor’s education and technology pillar of the State THEMES Plus Agenda.
The US Consulate Deputy Public Affairs Officer, Mrs. Amanda Roach Brown described the teachers as the architects of knowledge that possessed the power to shape the future and build the leaders of tomorrow.
She added that it was important for teachers to embrace technology to ensure that education remains accessible and inclusive to every child.
Mrs. Brown posited that the training would take the teachers through the various ‘Apps for Teaching and Learning ‘ which would enhance their service delivery.
