The winger initially joined Leeds on loan before his move was made permanent and played a big part in getting them promoted to the Premier League in 2020.
He spent the last two seasons on loan at Valencia and Al Ittihad, respectively, after his stock fell at Elland Road.
Costa was not part of new Leeds boss Daniel Farke’s plans when he returned to the club in the summer and made it clear he wanted to go.
He failed to find a new club during the summer transfer window despite not being part of the first-team set-up.
The two sides have finally reached an agreement for Costa to leave Leeds as a free agent.
His contract has been terminated by mutual consent and he will now try to find a new club.
Costa scored eight times and laid on eleven assists across 71 appearances during his time at Leeds.
