The BBC presenter was in Wolverhampton for Question Time to discuss the day’s big political issues.
But before starting the debate, she explained how she got her mystery injuries.
Fiona told BBC viewers that she had a nasty accident while horse riding, which resulted in her breaking her hand.
The presenter has been hosting Question time since 2019, after David Dimbleby quit.
Fiona is a staple of the BBC, having worked her way up the ladder at the broadcaster.
She is now one of TV’s most familiar celebrities, thanks to her previous work on shows such as BBC’s Six O’Clock News and BBC Breakfast.
One of her biggest achievements is that Fiona is the first female to anchor the BBC News at Ten.
She is also known for Crimewatch – taking over from Jill Dando after her murder.
The sought after star has also been the presenter of BBC favourite The Antiques Roadshow since 1998.
Fiona gave Question Time viewers a very brief statement regarding her arm being in a sling.
She said: “I thought I’d just mention it. It’s the least interesting thing in the programme but in case you’re wondering.
“I broke my hand and I’ve got the remnants of a black eye because I fell off a horse. And that’s all I have to say about that.”
The BBC star previously spoke out about her experience with horse riding, revealing she started learning in 2011.
She told the Daily Mail: “I started horse riding very late in life. I will always be pretty rubbish, but I love it.”
Fiona continued: “It takes me to a different place. I can’t think about anything else when I’m doing it. I love being around horses. I love the speed. I love being outdoors.”
