Patrick Mahomes plays professional football, and his wife Brittany Mahomes is a former pro soccer player, so it makes sense that their kids would inherit a love of sports — and their son Bronze, who will turn 1 year old in November, is already showing interest in the game. But the game isn’t football, and it’s not soccer either. No, Bronze seems captivated by a sport with a much smaller ball and a much larger field.
On Monday, Brittany shared two short videos on her Instagram Story. The first captured Patrick carrying Bronze with one arm and hauling a golf bag with the other as he walked across a picturesque golf course. In the background, the mom of two said, “This guy’s playing golf with his kiddo.”
A second video showed the NFL quarterback teeing off, driving his ball down the faraway as Bronze sat off to the side contentedly watching his dad take a swing. Patrick’s dad, Patrick I, played pro baseball, and Patrick II competes in the NFL, so could Patrick III — Bronze’s legal name — have a future in professional golf?
In October 2022, the Kansas City Chiefs player shared his philosophy on being both a professional athlete and a parent. During an episode of Football in America, per People, he explained, “I’m going to help teach my son, my daughter, all the fundamentals and whatever they want to learn. But at the same time, I want to stay out of the way and let it be about them.”
“That’s what my dad did growing up, that’s what my parents did,” Patrick continued. “They let it be about me, let me out there and have fun, they didn’t pressure me to do anything. I think that’s why I’m in the position I am today,” he mused.
Time will tell if Bronze or his big sister Sterling will get the sports bug — either way, we love the football player’s perspective on their potential future interests!
