The Mess Council of Hostels 12, 13, and 14 at IIT-Bombay has fined a student Rs 10,000 for "unruly behaviour" and "flouting of mess norms." The incident involved three students who ate non-vegetarian food in the designated vegetarian area as a protest against the segregation of dining areas. One student has already been fined, while disciplinary action is pending against the other two.
