A MAN who rented an electric Volkswagen said he hated it even before he got inside.
Motors enthusiast Sebastian took to social media to reveal everything that went wrong with the Volkswagen ID3.
Sebastian took the EV for a drive test[/caption] But things went wrong before he even got inside the car[/caption]Sebastian, who rented the vehicle for three days, took the full-electric Volkswagen ID.3 for a drive test to check its performance.
The content creator posted a video on YouTube rubbishing the electric vehicle.
On the clip he said: “Volkswagen ID3, it’s now time to share what I hate about this all-electric car.”
The £35,880 vehicle boasts a 58kWh battery, 260 miles of range is capable of reaching a top speed of 99mph.
Drivers can even enjoy augmented reality with a 5.3in display and navigation system projected onto the windscreen.
However, despite the high-tech feature, the driver said its performance fell short.
What should have been a smooth driving test became an EV nightmare – and things started to go wrong before he could even get into the vehicle.
The Youtuber slammed: “This is what I don’t like about this car. First off we don’t have to get inside of the car.
“I just don’t like the shape and design overall, and on top of that this colour is awful.
“I call it a grey like you would have in your apartment or house and there’s no metallic particles at all.
“I think it just looks awful,” he fumed.
When the influencer finally got into the Volkswagen things continued to go wrong.
He claimed the high-tech screen display has too many touch buttons and they don’t even light up at night.
The steering wheel also features touch controls – which are supposed to make the driving experience more convenient.
But according to the EV driver, they are “awful”.
Sebastian explained: “We have touch buttons everywhere for the climate control, for the menu and even for the AC.
“They’re not even illuminated at night. I seriously don’t know who came up with that idea.
“That was absolutely awful and they should get fired to be honest.”
The video has gathered hundreds of views and dozens of likes from fellow drivers.
