GOGGLEBOX legend Stephen Webb has been unveiled as the latest Dancing On Ice name.
The popular reality star and hairdresser, 50, was announced on today’s Lorraine, just weeks after quitting the Channel 4 show.
He said: “I’m really excited, really nervous. I just want to get at it.”
Stephen said he hasn’t skated properly since he was 13 but managed to avoid falling after a recent return to the ice, which bodes well.
He’s also transformed his body over the past eight months and is in training for next year’s London Marathon meaning he’ll be in tip top shape on the ice.
Last month Stephen and husband Daniel Lustig announced they were leaving Gogglebox.
In a joint statement they said: “After careful consideration, Daniel and I have decided we will not be returning for the new series of Gogglebox.
“We feel the time is right to move on and explore other opportunities.
“We would both like to thank Channel 4 and Studio Lambert for letting us be part of this amazing, funny and heartwarming show.
“We are also extremely thankful to the cast and crew, or Gogglebox family as we call them and of course the fans, thank you for all of your love & support over the years.”
The Dancing On Ice talent has been coming thick and fast in recent days with the likes of former Olympian Greg Rutherford, actor Adam Thomas and Love Island star Amber Davies all taking part.
Earlier today Made In Chelsea star Miles Nazaire was confirmed for the show.
It came a day after we exclusively revealed the reality star, 27, was in advanced talks with show bosses.
Miles wrote on social media this morning: “I’ve always loved to dance but it’s usually on a dance floor on a Saturday night and Dancing on Ice looks so difficult.
“I keep thinking about how I’m going to need to have rhythm while balancing on a thin blade and that’s when I feel the nerves kick in, but this is such an unbelievable opportunity to get totally out of my comfort zone.”
The Dancing on Ice Instagram account shared his promo shot and the words: “He can go for miles but how will Chelsea Charmer Miles Nazaire fare around the rink?”
Show fans seemed please with the signing.
One wrote: “Oh yes.”
Another said: “excited for this! Congrats.”
A third posted: “Buzzing.”
Controversial Miles was recently slammed for making “misogynistic” sex comments on his Playtime podcast.
Despite the fan backlash, Miles is the next famous face to follow in the footsteps of other reality stars including Joey Essex, Kem Cetinay and Jake Quickenden.
He is also the first Made in Chelsea star to tackle the show.
A source exclusively told The Sun: “Miles wants to do something outside his comfort zone – he can ski, but he’s not exactly a natural on skates.”
Earlier this year, Miles angered listeners after he said he would treat a woman he intends to marry with more respect than someone that he had a casual fling with.
Speaking on his podcast, Miles said: “Sexually there’s a lot of things that I wouldn’t do with a girl that isn’t the right one for me.”
Charlie quizzed him and asked: “Like what?”
Miles replied: “It’s hard to explain but for me when I’ve been more casually with someone it’s more ‘okay whatever’, let’s have some fun, let’s experiment in dirtier ways or more hardcore or whatever it is.
“I’m not saying I wouldn’t experiment or have those rough or crazy sex thing with her but there I things that I know that I have done with girls that I would not do with the girl that is the right one for me.”
Many fans thought the comments were “disrespectful, degrading and outdated”.
One furious listener wrote: “That’s actually very concerning to hear and I think it actually reflects a lot of male attitudes towards women (not all).
“The fact you wouldn’t do certain things with “The one” that you would do with “The others” comes across like you don’t respect other women. Would be interesting to know why you make this separation…”
Another wrote: “This is the same as ‘if I sleep with her / him on a first date, they’re not worthy / classy enough to be partner material’… Outdated and degrading.. Yawn.”
A fumed: “Aw mate this is not it. I think you might wanna check yourself this time. I love your video but this is pure misogyny/disrespect.”
The Sun last week revealed the 36-year-old would join the star-studded line-up alongside boxing legend Ricky Hatton, Coronation Street‘s Claire Sweeney, S Club 7 singer Hannah Spearritt, and Love Island winner Amber Davies.
Olympian Greg Rutherford has also been confirmed as the fifth star.
Apart from starring in Made in Chelsea for the last five years, Miles appeared on 2020 Ex on the Beach series.
He also tried to find love on E4‘s Celebs Go Dating last year and enjoyed a brief dalliance with Towie’s Chloe Brockett.
