DING JUNHUI was forced to make an impromptu dash to Marks and Spencer as he wore the WRONG TROUSERS for his English Open qualifier with Ma Hailong.
And his error cost him much more than a few quid as he was docked a frame donning the wrongly coloured trousers.
Ding Junhui faced Ma Hailong in the English Open qualifier on Monday[/caption] Ding revealed after the match he was docked a frame for wearing the wrong trousers[/caption]Ding – Asia’s most successful Snooker player – turned up to the Brentwood Leisure Centre wearing brown trousers.
That was in violation of the English Open’s dress code, which requires all players to wear black for their matches.
Luckily for him, a nearby M&S had plenty of black slacks in stock for him to purchase.
“I totally forgot about the [rules on] wearing shirts and trousers,” China’s Ding admitted.
“Because I had to buy [some] before the match started – about 15 or 20 minutes.
“So I lost the first frame straight away, I had to try and get back level and play a normal match.”
Snooker fans were quick to comment on Ding’s trouser fiasco, with one saying: “Clothes issues.”
Another said: “Not a good look on @WeAreWST… Ding actually looked pretty dapper!”

And another said: “Stupid rule.
“It’s like a team conceding a goal because the goalkeeper forgot to wear his shinpads.”
One remarked: “I think the all-black look is quite boring.
“But you can’t blame players for playing safe given the different rules right now.”
Along with a GIF from Wallace and Gromit ‘The Wrong Trousers’, another chimed in: “Ding Junhui this morning.”
Ding didn’t let the early deficit get to him and he quickly turned the match on its head to book passage to the first round.
The 36-year-old ran out a 4-3 winner over his countryman, setting up a tie with Brit David Grace.
