We found a huge car graveyard at an abandoned farm with cherrypickers and horseboxes left to rot
TWO explorers discovered a highly unusual car graveyard deep in the countryside where there were cherry pickers and horse boxes buried in the undergrowth.
The collection of vehicles included a couple of rare Mercedes Unimogs, which were a type of off-road truck.
The machines were perfect for agricultural workers who needed to drive across fields and through forests.
The explorers also chanced upon an old Land Rover, horse box, cherry picker, JCB and a Peugeot wagon.
The explorers estimated that the vehicles all dated back to the late 1960s and early 1970s.
They were found next to an abandoned farm deep in the countryside, and were partly covered by long grass, nettles and weeds. The vehicles had decayed over time.
The explorers posted their video of the so called car graveyard on YouTube, which was well received by members of the public.
A woman said: “My parents used to have a Jeep like that back in the early 2000s. So sad to see, however another great video.”
Another user appeared to joke: “I bet those cars aren’t SORN, DVLA will come knocking.”
The explorers, known as Journey Men, posted the following message to accompany the clip.
It read: “Welcome back to another Journey Men episode! In this video we are exploring one awesome abandoned farm and car graveyard.
“Nature really is taking this place back as the stingy nettles and weeds start to cover cars from the bottom…. Whilst trees are falling on top of them.
“As you we walk around the old derelict farm you’ll notice some rare vehicles such as X2 vintage Mercedes Unimogs and some other pretty cool stuff.”
A collection of vintage vehicles were recently found in an abandoned airport in southwest Manchester.
The collection includes dozens of valuable models from the The Triumph Motor Company – including TR4s, Mike Mueller and Spitfires with California plates.
What were once the most demanded cars in the market have been left to rot in what seems a haunted motors graveyard.
The British motor manufacturer – which is currently owned by BMW – was once among the top vehicle companies in the motors industry.
