Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was met with mockery on Saturday when she posted a video of the halls of Cannon House Office Building, where it appeared a fire alarm was going off before a major funding vote.
The fire alarm reportedly forced an evacuation, and future reports suggested Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) was caught on camera pulling it. An investigation into that matter is ongoing.
But before that probe was launched, Greene was quick to inform followers about the fire alarm in an ominous post.
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?
"Fire alarm is going off in Cannon," Greene wrote, referring to the House office building.
Conservative attorney and anti-Trump activist George Conway chimed in, "[T]hose dang Jews playing with their space lasers again."
National security lawyer Bradley P. Moss also had a theory. "Did you pull it?" Moss asked on Saturday.
Legal Affairs Editor at Condé Nast, Luke Zaleski, said, "It's because insurrectionists have taken over congress for Trump and a hostile foreign government."
A social media user in the comments of Greene's post, only identified as "Jo," followed up with, "Uh oh. Did you try spelling again?"
