Man, 26, riding e-scooter is killed in crash with car near Newport – as teenager also suffers injuries
A MAN riding an e-scooter has been killed today in a crash with a car near Newport as a teenager also suffered injuries.
A blue Vauxhall Corsa and an e-scooter collided on the A4042, which runs from Abergavenny to Newport in south Wales, at around 12.45am.
Officers attended the road traffic collision along with personnel from Welsh Ambulance Service.
The rider of the e-scooter, a 26-year-old man from Newport, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
His next of kin have been notified and are receiving support from specialist officers.
The driver of the car, an 18-year-old from Pontypool, received minor injuries.
Officers investigating the collision want to speak to any motorists who were travelling on the A4042 between 12.15am and 12.45am on September 30.
