Showtime comedy ‘The Curse’ starring Emma Stone to premiere November 10 following New York Film Fest sneak peek

Showtime has set a November 10 premiere date for its 10-episode comedy series “The Curse” starring Oscar winner Emma Stone, Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie. The show will launch over both streaming and on demand for Showtime and Paramount+ subscribers November 10 before making its on-air debut on Showtime on Sunday, November 12. The series will actually have its world premiere at the New York Film Festival on October 12, screening the first three episodes.

“The Curse” is described as “a genre-bending series that explores how an alleged curse disturbs the relationship of a newly married couple as they try to conceive a child while co-starring in their new home improvement show.” The series stars Stone (who won a 2017 lead actress Oscar for “La La Land”), Fielder (“The Rehearsal”) and Safdie (“Oppenheimer”). Guest stars include Oscar nominee Barkhad Abdi, Emmy nominee Corbin Bernsen and Constance Shulman. The series is a co-production of Showtime and A24 and is co-created, executive produced and written by Safdie and Filelder, who also serves as a director. Stone is one of the exec producers.

Stone is receiving significant Oscar buzz for her starring role in the offbeat Yorgos Lanthimos-directed feature “Poor Things,” for which she is the runaway leader in the Best Actress race in Gold Derby’s combined odds. The film launches in theaters nationwide on December 8.
