Coronation Street’s Lucy Fallon teases explosive love triangle as she confirms return to the cobbles

BETHANY Platt hasn’t been seen in the cobbles for three years as she took on a new job opportunity in London.

However, actress Lucy Fallon revealed she’d soon be returning to Coronation Street as she’ll be thrown into a love triangle.

Life in Weatherfield lost all of its appeal for Bethany Platt following an ill-fated romance with a grieving Daniel Osbourne.

The beloved character skipped town when she found a career opportunity miles away and left her family behind for a fresh start.

But with the Platts set to be reeling from the shock of Stephen Reid’s reign of terror, Bethany will have a chance to reconnect with her loved ones in the cobbles.

Serial killer Stephen is due to bow out himself on Friday, October 13, 2023 after committing a string of horrific crimes – including murder.

As a result, Lucy Fallon made a red carpet comeback, with a dress to match, as she attended the Inside Soap Awards on Monday (September 25, 2023).

During a chat with The Sun, the 27-year-old hinted she would be back “in the next few weeks”

“I’m very excited to be back. It feels a little bit strange, it feels like I don’t know what I’m doing. I feel like I’ve got imposter syndrome.”

While she’s been urged to remain tight-lipped, Lucy revealed she’s in the same spot as viewers of the Manchester-based program as she has no clue how her return could pan out.

But due to her heavy history with Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), it would be no surprise if she was to stir up trouble for him and his fiancée Daisy Midgelet (Charlotte Jordan).

“I’m interested to see what they’ll do with Daniel, Daisy and Bethany. It’s going to be exciting”, Lucy said.

Could she be teasing a love triangle?

“Maybe. Who knows?”, Lucy added, “Or Bethany could bring somebody back with her from London.”

How will Daniel react to Bethany’s return?

The lovebirds have already had their fair share of trouble as Daisy was caught catfishing Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott).

Will Bethany be the last straw?

Lucy is heading back to the set of the ITV soap after a major change in her life.

The actress gave birth a baby boy named Sonny Jude in early 2023.

As her work life will be picking up a pace once again, she revealed she relies on her family members to help with childcare, although the tot will also be going to nursery.

With her return to the cobbles fast approaching and a re-admission into the “Platt group chat” – which she was removed from by on-screen uncle Jack P. Shepherd in 2020 – Lucy is hoping for the best for her character.

“I’m hoping she’s had a good time in London, she’s got a fashion degree, she’s a successful journalist”, she said.

But life in soapland is never truly peaceful, prompting her to add: “She could come back with a whole load of baggage.”
