The Dolphins ended Sunday’s game vs. the Broncos just two points short of tying the NFL record for the most points scored in a game.
Miami scored 70 points in Sunday’s win over the Broncos, and the NFL record is 72 points that were scored by Washington in 1966.
The Dolphins had a shot to break the league record, running three plays inside Denver’s 25 yard line up 70-20 before kneeling out the clock on fourth down. The Miami crowd booed at this point, even though their team was electric all game.
Regardless, with 726 yards of offense, the Dolphins broke the NFL record for yards in a game, as well as their franchise record of most points scored in a game, which was previously 55 points. Miami scored 56 points by the end of the third quarter.
The Dolphins scored a total of 10 touchdowns in the game, four thrown by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, one thrown by backup quarterback Mike White, three rushed in by Raheem Mostert and two rushed in by De’Von Achane.
