Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are ready to cash in on Giovani Lo Celso in January.
Lo Celso is currently out with a hamstring problem and has missed the last few games. The midfielder’s only start so far this season came in the Carabao Cup second-round clash against Fulham last month.
Over the past few days, multiple Spanish outlets, including Fichajes and AS (via Sport Witness), have claimed that Real Betis are keeping a close eye on the midfielder’s situation ahead of the January window.
The former even suggested that the 27-year-old had already made up his mind to leave Tottenham in the winter and despite attracting plenty of interest, was favouring a return to Betis.
Football Insider have claimed that even though Lo Celso impressed Ange Postecoglou in pre-season, the North London club will listen to offers for the player in January.
The report adds that with the Argentine having just over 18 months left on his contract, Spurs feel that the next transfer window would be the right time to cash in on him.
Spurs Web Opinion
With Brennan Johnson (and perhaps even Dejan Kulusevski) being able to operate in the James Maddison role, I do not see Lo Celso getting much of a look in over the coming months. I expect both him and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to leave the club in January.
