LORRAINE Kelly will be taking on her most exciting career move to date – all in aid of a very worthy cause.
The TV presenter is kicking off her morning TV show’s fifth annual Change + Check campaign with something completely out of her comfort zone.
Lorraine Kelly is recording a music single for her cancer charity campaign[/caption] It will support the fifth year of the Change + Check campaign[/caption]A legend of breakfast telly, Lorraine will now be seeing if she has what it takes in the recording studio as she is teaming up with 20 women who have been supported by the campaign to release their very own single.
The Change + Check campaign was created to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.
Producer of Lorraine’s show, Helen Addis, helped to found the campaign after her own struggle with the terrible disease.
For the huge new move, Lorraine will be joined by 20 women who discovered they had breast cancer as a direct result of the admirable Change + Check campaign.
Titled Golden, the ladies are hoping to make it to the top of the charts with Lorraine even quipping that she has her eyes set on a Christmas number one.
The choral track was recorded earlier this year in London with Lorraine launching the campaign on her ITV show.
All net profits from downloads of the single ‘Golden’ will be going to breast cancer charity Future Dreams.
Speaking on the brand new campaign for 2023, Lorraine said, “I’m so proud of Helen and the wonderful team for making the campaign so successful.
“The campaign has really made a difference and saved lives. I’m also hugely indebted to the incredible members of the choir women who have faced breast cancer – who sound like strong, sassy angels.”
To date, the campaign has helped over 66 women to detect and therefore get treated for breast cancer.
Over its five years of supporting women, a hoard of stars have spoken out in support of the importance of the campaign including Madonna, Emma Bunton and Kelly Osbourne.
Further adding on the importance of the campaign, Lorraine added: “The campaign is all about getting to know your body and what’s normal for you.
“Noticing changes and getting checked gives you a chance of early diagnosis and do remember, chances are it’s nothing to worry about, but you will get peace of mind.”

Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in the UK - with one woman diagnosed every ten minutes.
While most women can get breast cancer, it is most common in women who are over the age of 50.
According to Cancer Research UK, breast cancer starts in the breast tissue.
Breast cancer develops when abnormal cells in the breast begin to grow and divide in an uncontrolled way and eventually form a growth.
Most invasive breast cancers are found in the upper-outer quadrant of the breast.
If it’s not diagnosed and treated it can move through the lymph or blood vessels to other areas of the body.
Each year in the UK there are around 55,200 new breast cancer cases.
This equates to around 150 new cases a day.
It also accounts for 15 per cent of all new cancer cases each year.
If the cancer is diagnosed at its earliest stage then 98 per cent of people will survive the disease for five years or more.
If it is diagnosed at the latest stage, then just 26 per cent of people survive for five years or more.
What are the four stages of breast cancer?
Stage one: The cancer is small and only in the breast tissue – but can also be found in lymph nodes close to the breast.
Stage two: The cancer is either in the breast or in the nearby lymph nodes or both.
Stage three: The cancer has spread from the breast to the lymph nodes or the skin of the breast or the chest wall.
Stage four: The cancer has spread to other parts of the body.
