A DOG trainer has revealed the three breeds of dogs he would never own.
But this had nothing to do with any aggressive traits.
This was more to do with their independent streak and, for one at least, their goof-ball tendencies.
The first on his list, the Boxer, he described as a “walking meme.”
They are, figured Jamie the Dog Trainer (@jamiethedogtrainer) “the class clowns of the dog world.”
So much so that he said he wasn’t “able to take these dogs seriously at all.”
In his post, he admitted that while he couldn’t live with them, he acknowledged that he did like them.
“I like them from afar [and] when someone else has got them,” he wrote.
Jamie just couldn’t live with their constant goof-ball antics.
He summed up their character.
“A Boxer is kind of like that mate that’s always doing those practical jokes and after a while, everyone thinks he’s a bit of an [idiot] even though they love him.”
Second on his list was the Beagle. He considered them great-looking dogs but didn’t like their “horrible bark.”
He continued: “Because of what they were bred for they can be very independent and a bit of a challenge to train.”
“For those reasons, I just find them too much for me. I wouldn’t own one myself.”
Finally, it was the exotic Shar Pei. They just were not for him.
“As far as owning one, they are typically quite hard to train, they don’t like strangers or new dogs mainly.”
There were 17,000 who liked his post and nearly a thousand comments, many from owners of the three breeds who begged to disagree with his views.
One commenter said: “I own a Boxer so I talk from actual experience. Boxers are great, loving and perfect.”
“Beagle owner here, yes they are very independent and follow their nose. Super smart and cheeky,” said a second person.
But this owner was inclined to agree with Jamie.
“We have a Shar Pei. We love him, mostly, but we would never own another one after him.”
