Gabrielle Union Welcomes Ankle Boots Season in New York
Gabrielle Union was photographed heading out to lunch in New York today.
The “Bring It On” star donned a pair of black leather boots featuring bulbous rounded toes, a chunky composition and a glossy patent leather finish.
The sleek and stylish pair appeared to be ankle-length and acted to streamline Union’s ensemble while the thick and sturdy soles offered the star a small boost in height. The soles of said boots were fitted with non-slip tread. 2 to 3-inch thick block heels rounded out the set
Like Union’s style, boots of all kinds are rugged and utilitarian, providing the wearer with a simplistic but sophisticated appearance that is widely versatile. Union often gravitates toward ankle-length silhouettes, mainly in neutral tones. Beyond black, ankle boots can be found in a wide range of colors and prints from both high and low-end brands including Dr. Martens, Ganni, Chloe, Timberland and Hunter. As we move into the fall season, many celebrities are adopting ankle boots into their wardrobes.
The “10 Things I Hate About You” star hit the streets of New York outfitted in a silky black tank top worn layered underneath a striped black and tan oversized cardigan featuring button closures and lengthy sleeves.
On the bottom, the star sported a pair of high-waisted black wool trousers in a baggy style with pleated tailored detailing. Accessorizing her ensemble, Union toted an olive green leather mini shoulder bag accompanied by large black sunglasses with reflective black lenses.
When it comes down to footwear, Union tends to gravitate toward a few simplified styles. On and off the red carpet, Union can usually be found wearing sandals by Magda Butrym, By Far and Gia Couture’s collaboration with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. She’s also known for wearing shoes from Paris Texas, Tamara Mellon and Tabitha Simmons. While off-duty, Union prefers athletic sneakers by Adidas, Reebok or Nike.
