Destiny Udogie leads the way in this impressive Premier League statistic
It has been a fantastic start to life at Tottenham Hotspur for Destiny Udogie, and it seems the youngster has now won possession in the attacking third more times than any other player in the Premier League.
Destiny Udogie signed for Spurs last summer, but remained with his former club, Udinese, for the remainder of the 2022/23 campaign. While there, the Italian scored three goals and registered four assists for the Serie A side (Transfermarkt).
He arrived at Tottenham this summer with great expectations, and he has most certainly lived up to the hype. The 20-year-old has started all five of Spurs’ Premier League fixtures so far, and already has two assists to his name (Transfermarkt).
Udogie has been integral to Tottenham‘s unbeaten start to the season and has flourished under new manager, Ange Postecoglou.
Operating as a left-back, Udogie’s primary duties naturally lie in defensive areas. However, in Postecoglou’s attacking setup, the wonderkid has been just as useful in forward areas.

Udogie leads the way in winning possession
According to WhoScored, Udogie has been so impressive in those attacking areas, that he actually tops the charts in one particular statistic in the Premier League.
WhoScored revealed “No player has won possession in the attacking third more times than Destiny Udogie (8) in the Premier League this season.”
The fact that Udogie leads the way in this specific skill set is further proof of the high-pressing, aggressive approach instilled by Postecoglou. And, this will be a large factor in helping Udogie be so dangerous in providing assists for his teammates, too.

Spurs Web Opinion
I had a feeling Destiny Udogie would adapt to the Premier League effectively, but I didn’t quite expect him to do so quite this quickly and have this much of an impact. He has been outstanding so far this season, and will only continue to get better and better.
