The NFL regular season kicks off with the Houston Texans heading to M&T Bank Stadium to face off against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
After inking their star quarterback Lamar Jackson to a long-term deal and assembling arguably the best wide-receiving corps in Jackson’s career, the Ravens have high hopes. The pressure is on Jackson to not just make the playoffs but to take the Ravens deep into the postseason. Baltimore looks to set the tone for the season with a dominant performance against the Texans—a team that managed only three wins last year.
Meanwhile, the Texans enter the 2023 season under a new regime led by head coach DeMeco Ryans. The Texans will also debut their rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud in a challenging road environment. Despite having little to no expectations, Houston could be a dark horse this season. Their revamped defense, which now features the game-changing linebacker Will Anderson Jr., could potentially throw a wrench into the plans of more highly-touted teams.
