President Joe Biden arrived in Delhi for the G20 Summit. Air Force One landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport around 7 p.m. He is set to hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where discussions may include fighter jet engines, predator drones, and cooperation in 5G and 6G technologies.
US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan did not confirm but hinted at a significant rail deal, emphasizing its importance for connectivity and potential economic and strategic benefits spanning India through the Middle East to Europe.
This visit marks a significant event as leaders worldwide gather for the mega-summit, addressing various global issues.
Biden’s meetings with PM Modi are expected to cover a wide range of topics, reflecting the importance of the US-India relationship on regional and global scales.
The White House aims to demonstrate the United States’ ability to contribute globally during this summit. This effort coincides with the growing collaboration of emerging economies, such as within BRICS, where they unite to ensure their voices are acknowledged.
In a recent development, the BRICS bloc, composed of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, expressed its willingness to include six additional nations. The United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia are poised to join this influential group.
Apart from his scheduled meeting with Prime Minister Modi, President Biden has no formal bilateral meetings planned with other G-20 participants, including Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. However, there is a possibility of more informal interactions occurring on the sidelines of the meetings.
