Report: Spurs midfielder received ‘very financially attractive’ Saudi offer this summer
A report from Denmark has provided an update on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s future at Tottenham Hotspur, while the player himself has seemingly ignored speculation linking him with a move to Saudi Arabia.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg had enjoyed a key role at Spurs since he joined the club in 2020, but has now seen himself slip down the pecking order under new boss Ange Postecoglou.
With Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr excelling in this new-look Tottenham side, Hojbjerg has had to make do with substitute appearances so far this season.
It had been suggested for much of the summer that Hojbjerg could be on his way out of the club, with Atletico Madrid believed to be tracking the Danish star (Daily Mail).
Premier League side Fulham reportedly made an offer of £30m for Hojbjerg on deadline day (Football Insider), but the 28-year-old rejected the Cottagers. It was said Hojbjerg considered himself capable of playing at a higher level than Fulham could offer (Daily Mail).
The transfer window has now closed, and a recent report suggested Spurs would be looking to keep hold of Hojbjerg amid rumours of an approach from Saudi Arabia (Football Insider).
Hojbjerg refuses to comment on Saudi interest
Whether Hojbjerg wants to stay at Spurs or not is up for debate, but either way, the player is not up for discussing the matter.
Danish outlet Ekstra Bladet (via Sport Witness) covered the situation, and when asked about his future, Hojbjerg simply replied: “I am looking forward to the match against San Marino.”
According to the newspaper, a “very financially attractive” offer had been put forward for Hojbjerg from an unknown club from the Middle East.

I’ve said it time and time again, but we should keep hold of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. He’s a very valuable squad player and still has a lot to give. Besides, I can’t see him being interested in a move to Saudi Arabia, given how he was reluctant to move to Fulham as he saw that as a drop in standards.
