ICC World Cup 2023 trophy reaches in Kabul
The ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 trophy has reached Kabul as part of its global tour ahead of the tournament in October.
In Kabul, the trophy will visit various venues, allowing cricket enthusiasts to see it up close.
This is the second time the Cricket World Cup trophy has been brought to Afghanistan for display.
The trophy was brought to Afghanistan for the first time in 2015 and was displayed at various locations.
According to the rules of international cricket competitions, the trophy mentioned above will be transferred to the countries participating in the tournament before it takes place.
The trophy’s tour began in India, the tournament’s host, on June 27. It has since travelled to multiple countries, including Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the United States, the West Indies, Bangladesh, Kuwait, Bahrain, Italy, France, and England.
The tournament will feature ten teams competing at ten venues from October 5 to November 19, with the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad hosting both the opening match and the final.
The competition will follow a round-robin format, with all teams playing each other in 45 league matches.
The top four teams from the league stage will advance to the semifinals, which are scheduled for November 15 in Mumbai and November 16 in Kolkata. Reserve days are in place for the semifinals and the final.
