The caller said that the child in the car "was banging on the window," police said.
A child who was left in a car in “extreme heat” weather was rescued from a car that was left in the parking lot of a Bridgeport store, police said.
Police said officers went to the parking lot of Bass Pro Shop after receiving a 911 call at just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, with the caller reporting that she and two other people “came upon a small child that was left in a vehicle in the parking lot.”
The caller said that the “child was banging on the window,” police said.
The caller said the window of the car was broken by one of them because they had to “retrieve the child due to the extreme heat.”
Police said that in addition to officers, AMR ambulance was dispatched to the location and the child was immediately taken to Bridgeport Hospital by AMR for evaluation.
The child, who was not identified by police, has been described as being in good spirits by medical staff, police said.
