Manchester United Women face a difficult decision regarding Mary Earps’ future at the club.
The 30-year-old has been nominated for the 2023 Ballon d’Or award following her impressive displays for both club and country.
She was part of Sarina Wiegman’s team that made it to the final of the World Cup, where they ultimately lost to Spain.
The experienced goalkeeper also made 22 league appearances last season, keeping 14 clean sheets.
The Red Devils made a strong challenge for the Women’s Super League title but fell short by two points, with Chelsea successfully defending their league crown.
Earps has been at United since 2019, when she moved to the club from VfL Wolfsburg.
However, Man Utd now face a big dilemma regarding her future. According to The Athletic, she wants to leave the club.
Arsenal are reportedly keen on Earps and submitted a record bid last week.
But the Red Devils rejected their offer, insisting she is not for sale.
However, Earps only has a year left on her contract, and they risk losing her for free next year.
United also refused to listen to offers for Alessia Russo in January and that didn’t prove to be a great decision.
The 24-year-old joined the Gunners on a free transfer this summer.
They will not want a similar situation with Earps. However, they have failed to convince her to pen a new deal.
With the transfer window closing on September 14, Man Utd must make a decision soon.
