Sick teaching assistant, 25, who filmed himself sexually abusing a BABY is jailed after cops find secret phone in attic
A TEACHING assistant who filmed himself sexually abusing a baby has been jailed after bragging about his gruesome crimes online.
Tommy Allington, 25, repeatedly assaulted and raped the tot before sharing vile images with other paedophiles.
His sick offending only came to light when police were told about indecent images on Instagram.
Officers then found a secret phone hidden in Allington’s attic where he had filmed himself sexually abusing the baby.
He had shared the clips and pictures on messaging app Telegram under the username AngelBoy where he “boasted” about the ordeal.
The fiend had also downloaded more than 1,500 images of children including 252 Category A pictures – the most extreme kind.
He has now been jailed for 18 years and eight months with a further six years to be spent on licence.
Allington previously pleaded guilty to 17 counts of child rape, sexual assault, causing a child to engage in sexual activity, possessing indecent images of children, distributing indecent images of children, and possessing prohibited images.
The baby boy’s dad told Swansea Crown Court how his son sometimes goes into a “trance” following the horrific abuse.
His mum said her world had “fallen apart” and the family had been destroyed by Allington.
The court was told the paedophile subjected the boy to a sustained campaign of sexual assaults and rape.
In vile conversations with other predators, Allington discussed the advantages of abusing babies as they cannot defend themselves.
Judge Catherine Richards said it is impossible to know the full impact of the nightmare ordeal on the child, especially as happened at a critical time in his youngster’s development.
She ordered Allington to serve at least two-thirds of his sentence before he is eligible for parole and placed him on the sex offenders register for life.
Speaking after the sentencing the officer who investigated the case, South Wales Police Detective Constable Amanda Jenkins said: “Offences of this kind will always be shocking and disturbing, particularly when that person is in a position of trust.
“This will undoubtedly be difficult news for the local community but please be assured that our teams and partners have safeguarded and supported all those involved in the investigation.
“The victim’s family has shown incredible strength and courage throughout this case.”
