North Korean Navy to become part of nuclear deterrence force: Kim Jong-Un
On Navy Day, North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un declared that the Korean People’s Army Navy would be incorporated into the nation’s nuclear deterrence forces.
“KPA’s Navy joins national nuclear deterrence, all branches to get new equipment for expanded tactical nuclear weapon use,” Kim Jong-Un announced. No specifics on the equipment provided, he said, according to KCNA.
While speaking to the audience, the North Korean leader clarified that the Korean Navy should operate under a single control system approved by the Korean Worker’s Party Central Committee. This directive aims to maintain the Navy’s constant state of war readiness, allowing it to eliminate specific targets designated by the Central Committee when required.
He said, “War is not only a standoff between vehicles and equipment, it is also a standoff between ideas, ideals and morals.”
Kim Jong-Un also emphasized another crucial point during his address. He highlighted that the key to rapidly enhancing the Navy’s combat capabilities revolves around two factors. First, there’s a strong emphasis on promoting equipment upgrades, ensuring the Navy remains at the cutting edge of technological advancement. Second, he stressed the significance of conducting exercises in realistic combat scenarios. This approach aims to sharpen the Navy’s skills and preparedness, enabling them to respond to potential threats effectively.
By combining these strategies of equipment advancement and practical training, Kim Jong-Un indicated a comprehensive approach to strengthening the Navy’s effectiveness and overall capabilities.
