A WOMAN who didn’t have room for a utility space in her house left people stunned when she showed off how she got around the problem.
Although a lot of houses don’t have the room for a huge tumble dryer, Laura Williams still wanted the practicality of having one.
That’s when she decided to store the machine in her garden instead – and it might look weird at first, but the cleaning whizz insisted it works for her.
Posting on TikTok Laura showed off the unusual set up.
She said: “I remember when I first posted a video of my tumble dryer outside and everyone couldn’t believe that it lived outside.”
Laura stores the machine in a plastic container she can open up to clean and use the machine.
In the clip, she explained that keeping her tumble dryer outside does have some downsides, and how dirty it got over the winter is one of them.
“It’s taken an absolute battering over winter, one of the doors snapped off so we had water coming in all the time.
“By the way this tumble dryer is absolutely ancient, but it’s still working so it’s all good,” she explained.
Even though having an actual utility room with space for the dryer would be idea, it’s just not a reality for Laura, who said there’s simple no space.
That said, the cleaning whizz said she is thinking about upgrading the outdoor set up.
“I do need to think about buying a new storage container, or even a small shed, but we’ve just got to work with what we’ve got at the moment,” she explained.
Laura even added some shelves to the container to store other cleaning products to free up more precious room in her kitchen.
Other cleaning fans were impressed with her set up, and some even said they’d prefer it to keeping the tumble dryer inside.
One commented: “I’d rather have my tumble dryer outside than risk setting my house on fire, so I think it’s spot on.”
A second agreed: “I’ve always had my washer and dryer in an outhouse!”
“Omg, considering this so I can have a dishwasher in the house,” another said.
