OFFICE OF CIVIC ENGAGEMENT SENSITIZES PERMANENT SECRETARIES ON CITIZENSGATE APPLICATION

In furtherance of its unrelenting efforts to promote good and effective governance, the Office of Civic Engagement (OCE) has held a one-day sensitization programme for Permanent Secretaries and Chief Executive Officers in the Public Health Sector to further familiarise them with the CitizensGate 2.0 (CGv2) Application while enrolling them as back-end users.

Speaking at the programme held recently at the Lagos State Ministry of Health Conference Room, Alausa Ikeja, the Permanent Secretary Office of Civic Engagement, Engr. Abiola Kosegbe noted that the sensitisation of the Health sector became imperative as a result of the health reform of the present administration, which necessitated the creation of six Health Districts and the appointment of Permanent Secretaries to head each one.

Kosegbe averred that the programme is meant to build strong support for the application while ensuring collaborative usage of the platform throughout the Health Sector. She added that it is pertinent to acquaint the newly appointed Health District Permanent Secretaries with the mandate of the Office of Civic Engagement, especially the CitizensGate which serves as a feedback mechanism between the Government and the citizenry while interacting with all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to ensure that all government policies are being disseminated to the grassroots.

She further explained that the Office was working on the integration of a toll-free number into the platform to avail Lagosians the opportunity to link up with the platform through phone calls for inquiries, complaints and feedback on all Government policies and programmes.

A demonstration of the operational features including the dashboard contents, ticketing and back-end modules was made by the Office for easy navigation by the users to resolve issues as they relate to their respective MDAs.

Present at the event were the Permanent Secretaries, Ministry of  Health, Dr Olusegun Ogboye; Lagos State Primary Health Care Board (LSPHCB) Dr Mustapha Ibrahim; Primary Healthcare District I, Dr Olufumilayo Bankole; Primary Healthcare District II, Dr Oludayo  Lajide; Primary Healthcare District III, Dr Monsurat Adeleke, represented by Mrs Haleemat Adeshina; Primary Healthcare District IV, Dr Abimbola Bowale; Primary Healthcare District lV, Dr, Cecilia Mabogunje and the Chief Medical Director Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Prof. Adetokunbo Fabamwo, represented by Mr Omua Nasamu.

Also present at the event were Directors from the Office of Civic Engagement, Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS), Resolvers from Lagos State Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Primary Health Care Board (PHCB) and Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA).
