A Norwalk woman who was driving the wrong way on Interstate 95 in Milford on Sunday night has been charged with driving under the influence, state police said.
Troopers responded to reports of a vehicle driving south in the northbound lanes of I-95 near Exit 39 around 10:29 p.m. on Sunday, according to Connecticut State Police.
Troopers from CSP Troop G Bridgeport spotted a silver Subaru Forester driving the wrong way and safely pulled the driver over near Exit 37, state police said.
Troopers learned that the driver, 34-year-old Kelsey McManus, had struck another vehicle before being pulled over, according to state police. A New York man was driving his Mercedes Benz in the left lane north of Exit 37 when McManus struck the passenger side of his vehicle while driving in the wrong direction. No one was injured in the crash, state police said.
After being pulled over, McManus reportedly failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody, state police said. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first-degree reckless endangerment and interfering with an officer, according to state police.
She was released on a $2,500 bond, state police said.
