Sam Dingle troubled by wife Lydia’s growing relationship with ex Craig in Emmerdale

CRAIG rocked up the village and surprised his childhood sweetheart Lydia Dingle at a local job fair.

But next week in Emmerdale, jealousy slowly gets the best of her husband Sam as he watches them get close again.

Lydia and Sam Dingle (James Hooton) have been desperately trying to make ends meet, particularly due to the birth of their granddaughter Esther last year.

But when Lydia asked Kim Tate (Claire King) for more hours, she was given a stern refusal, prompting her to attend the job fair in the eponymous village.

This is where she bumped into someone from her past, Craig (The Girl Before star Ben Addis), who she knows from the children’s home.

Coming up on ITV, Sam and Lydia discuss Craig’s reappearance before she reconnects with him at The Hide.

Craig has a job offer for Lydia and he soon follows through with it.

The pair are soon filling each other in on their lives since both of them were at the children’s home and they fall back into their easy rapport. 

Later on, Samson (Sam Hall) is in awe of Craig’s car as he drops Lydia back home.

Samson grills Lydia about Craig, overawed by his wealth whilst Sam is somewhat intimidated.

The lad is impressed to learn Craig’s company made one of his favourite phone games and asks Lydia to get him some work experience.

At the company offices, Lydia asks Craig about Samson’s work experience but he becomes awkward and leaves.

Keen not to overpromise and underdeliver, Craig later returns confirming Samson’s work experience.

Samson is delighted whilst Sam feels insignificant.

Before long, Lydia introduces Craig to an awe-struck Samson.

Craig’s made himself at home as he and Samson head to fix the guttering Sam had neglected to finish.

Sam is feeling pushed out by Craig – but what will he do?

Could his marriage with Lydia really be in danger?
