I was told my glitter tattoo would look like trash in a year by trolls – but I still love it and even won an award
A TIKTOKER has clapped back at the haters for criticizing her glitter tattoo.
Trolls said her vibrant body art wouldn’t look good in a year, but it ended up winning an award.
Amanda Graves (@amandagravestattoo) revealed the tattoo in a video on TikTok.
“Your glitter tattoos will look like s**t a year later,” read the text, echoing comments from trolls.
She revealed the ink, which was a depiction of the fictional sandworm from the movie Beetlejuice.
“A year old glitter tattoo that won first at the convention,” more text read.
The video drew in many viewers who shared their thoughts in the comment section.
“I talk about wanting to make the trip out to get your glitter tattoos all the time,” one wrote. “Please never stop.”
“I don’t get where people get off on telling people their tattoos ‘will look bad in years’ like where is the joy in that sentence?” another added.
“Love the raw photo no filters or alterations,” a third commented. “Great job.”
“If you go to a good artist who knows their pressure and has good ink your tats can last a good long time plus exfoliating once a week,” yet another wrote.
“I don’t get it? It looks great,” one more said.
A glitter tattoo uses a design technique that gives a gradient effect of looking like glitter.
In another video, Amanda described the technique she uses as a tattoo artist.
“My question is how do you get the glitter effect on the tattoo?” a viewer asked. “Do you dot different colors together?”
“Just a variation of dot sizing and colors and layer the top with three pastel colors and white,” Amanda replied, showing a colorful snake tattoo.
