Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill and cornerback Eli Apple—sworn enemies mere months ago—presumably did not count on being teammates this season.
However, Apple—a free agent since March—saw his fortunes reverse when Miami moved to sign him on Saturday. That created a potentially awkward situation, with the 2016 first-round pick now on the same team as a receiver he has repeatedly feuded with.
However, Apple told reporters Sunday that he and Hill had buried the hatchet.
“His locker is literally right across from mine,” Apple said. “I saw him earlier today in the locker room and we were chopping it up a little bit at the training and breakfast table. We all good. It’s all love. We’re on the same team. All love.”
Apple signed with the Dolphins after Miami lost six-time Pro Bowler Jalen Ramsey until December with a meniscus injury. The provocative cornerback is on his fifth team, following stints with the Giants, Saints, Panthers and Bengals. Hill, meanwhile, is coming off a 1,710-yard receiving season, the 11th-highest total in league history.
The Dolphins are scheduled to open their 2023 season on Sept. 10 against the Chargers in Inglewood, Calif.
