WEDDINGS are typically very expensive, but one woman managed to save thousands on flowers thanks to some bargain buys from Shein and Ikea.
Taking to TikTok, bride-to-be Alannah Pummell, from Norfolk, shared how she used fake flowers to create bouquets for her and her bridesmaids.
On average, people spend around £850 on wedding flowers, but Alannah, a 2023 bride, managed to do it for a fraction of the price.
In the clip, she said: “Today’s the day we turn these flowers I bought from Shein and Ikea into our bridesmaid bouquets.”
The excited bride-to-be used a mixture of different flowers to create ‘that wildflower, Bridgerton look.’
She started by selecting the flowers she wanted in each bouquet, using a variety of small and big flowers with greenery to create ‘floaty and florally’ bouquet for each bridesmaid.
The money-saving whizz then tapped the stems with floristry tape and lots of hot glue to make sure they didn’t come undone.
Next was deciding the colour of the ribbon, and Alannah settled on sage green.
The results looked stunning and it would be hard to tell the flowers were fake.
A pack of fake flowers from Shein typically costs around £2 meaning the bride saved hundreds of pounds.
In other videos, Alannah has revealed her top tips to save money on a wedding including DIY wedding napkins, favours and how to film it yourself instead of hiring a videographer.
The video posted to her account @alannahpummell was a hit and many brides-to-be flocked to the comments to praise her for her DIY skills.
One upcoming bride wrote: “They look gorgeous!”
Another commented: “I’m doing faux flowers too, I’ve been looking at Shein flowers too and I’m so impressed from your video!”
Alannah replied: “Honestly, about 95% off the flowers I got from SHEIN have been amazing.”
“They look lovely,” penned a third.
Someone else added: “Before you even said I thought Bridgerton! So beautiful.”
