HOW you decorate your home can tell a lot about your personality — and one woman has embraced her quirkier interests.
The content creator gave her followers a glimpse of her home, including her “most unhinged” décor choice.
In her video, TikTok user Birdie Wood (@thrifyweenqueen) explained: “I’ve noticed recently my décor choices are becoming more and more unhinged.”
She showed her viewers some examples of her unusual design picks.
Around her apartment was an Oreo cookie stool, a human-sized Coca-Cola bottle, and a Lego table.
She also has a banana garland down her stairs, a lamp shaped like a giant lightbulb, and a pillow shaped like a Goldfish cracker.
In one clip, she proclaimed proudly: “I love my little tacky home.”
Birdie describes her style as “maximalist,” but she felt she outdid herself when she said: “Today, I think I may have peaked.”
She explained: “I think when I was told as you get older you start to care less and less what people think and it’s true.”
After seeing a Facebook Marketplace post giving away an old gas station price sign, Birdie jumped at the chance to add it to her collection.
However, after struggling to fit the sign in her SUV she was forced to rent a U-Haul van to move the sign.
“It still didn’t connect that this thing was huge,” Birdie explained to her followers.
“We tried to put it in several spots in our house, by the way, this thing weighs like a billion pounds,” she said.
Birdie continued: “The only place it would fit was over our couch and I’m not necessarily mad about it but this is the most unhinged thing that I own.”
Showing viewers the sign mounted on her pink wall, she concluded: “I feel like my décor is the epitome of everyone is so creative.”
In a second video, Birdie showed her followers even more of her unique design choices.
TikTok users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on Birdie’s interior design choice.
“BIRDIE. Nothing could have prepared me for how large it is. Lol,” wrote one viewer.
Another follower said: “The way you tell a story is just [chef’s kiss] but the lead-up did not prepare me for the size, it looks fantastic though.”
“I actually think this is pretty subtle in comparison but very cool, good choice!” commented a third person.
