Emmerdale fans devastated as Bob breaks down after confronting Wendy over Liam affair
EMMERDALE fans have been left devastated as Bob broke down after confronting Wendy over her affair with Liam.
Bob discovered his partner had been cheating on him with the village doctor during Monday’s episode.
The pair had pretended to be at a sepsis conference together, but Bernice told Bob what was going on and after ringing the hotel and discovering there was no conference, he knew she was telling the truth.
In tonight’s episode, Liam and Wendy returned to the village having ended up staying in separate rooms after Wendy told him she could no longer continue with the affair as she loved Bob.
Back at home, Bob and Wendy both tried to act like everything was normal, but Bob eventually cracked and told her he knew about the affair with Liam.
A sobbing Wendy tried to explain how she had ended the affair the night before as he was her soul mate, but Bob struggled to believe her.
Admitting to almost cheating on her himself, Bob said he had stopped himself because of what Wendy meant to him, and that he thought their relationship was different to any that he had had previously.
He said emotionally: “You are the person I want to wake up beside for the rest of my life. Why would I put that in jeopardy with some fumble with Bernice?
“So what happens now? Is it telling us something? Are we stale? Are we done?”
A sobbing Wendy replied: “No, I love you as much as I always have. You’re my soul mate too.”
She begged for another chance but he said: “Love shouldn’t need work, we’re not some old married couple staying together for the kids.
“We can cut loose now. I just know that this is too painful, I need some time by myself to make a decision…see if we have a future.”
He then got up and left the room as Wendy cried, and Emmerdale viewers were quick to comment on the emotional scenes.
One wrote: “Bob deserves better, Wendy did him dirty.”
Another added: “Poor Bob but he’s not exactly innocent himself with Bernice #Emmerdale.”
A third tweeted: “What’s more shocking is with the amount of affairs Bob has had is that for once he didn’t cheat.”
