Donald Trump presented a mystifying binary choice regarding his attorneys Wednesday.
The former president claimed his political enemies were attacking his legal representatives, whom he described as either fools or patriots, in a Wednesday morning post on his Truth Social website.
"These vicious Communists, Marxists, Fascists, and Radical Left Democrats have attacked my lawyers at a level never seen before, and yet I keep on winning," Trump posted. "Any attorney that represents me is either a fool, or a Great American Patriot that History will love and cherish!"
Trump has been involved in a lot of legal cases since the 1980s, currently faces two criminal indictments and has been targeted for a likely third set of charges for his role in the Jan. 6 insurrection. But he's been on a losing streak since challenging his 2020 election loss.
A federal judge on Tuesday morning denied his request for a new trial in the E. Jean Carroll case by finding a jury had not reached a "seriously erroneous result" when it found he had sexually abused and defamed the author and columnist.
